Invitations
Here is a list of the majority of mail-order invitations. Most are the
typical invitations you find everywhere, a few are a bit different (such
as those by Weddingware and Heart Thoughts). These companies also carry
programs, inscribed napkins/favors, etc.
If you or your fiance work in a large company or organization that orders supplies
in bulk quantities, you should see if they can mail-order wedding stuff for you. If
you can, this option may only be available by using companies with whom your company
has a corporate account.
This could result in up to 40% off the catalog prices for invitations, napkins, etc.
Details on how to word your invitations, how to address them, etc. should
be included with your invitations. Or check out the Invitation Wording Information
provided by the soc.couples.wedding web page.
And remember that a separate invitation should be sent to all individuals who are not married and are
over 18 (i.e. John who goes to college, lives/doesn't live at home, but
is 20 should get a separate invitation). One tip regarding invitations has to do with
the letter "M" followed by a blank line on the response cards. It's best to include this "M" so
the guest knows to write their name(s) on that blank line (some people might otherwise only
check the "will attend" or "unable to attend" box and forget to fill in their name). Another way
to ensure you can figure out who sent mystery cards (those with no name) is to put a small number
on the back of each response card that corresponds to their name on your invitation list!
If you send an invitation to the President of the United States or the Queen of England, they
will reply to you with a lovely letter -- good conversation pieces to hang on your walls!
Their respective addresses are:
